Sad News

We were surprised that he stayed around as long as he did. He was hopping about, with limited ease, up to the end. He was eager, it seemed, to get himself over to where he could rest upon my stockinged feet. Seems he associated my feet with some kind of creature comfort, (the warmth? not the smell!) He would lie there while I tuned the TV onto programming that I think he recognized (from hearing the familiar voices from day to day). "Squawk Box" on CNBC, for one. Also, he listened to NPR on the radio. Now he's gone, we miss him dearly. He's asleep in the garden, under the snow, next to his pal Josefina the cat.
